The International Clown festival from 30th September in Mumbai

Mumbai: Laughter is the best medicine & that is exactly what the International Clown Fest India is bringing to India again this year. Martin D’Souza, Director of Light House Entertainment (I) Pvt. Ltd along with his seven fellow international clowns are here to spread smiles & cheers across the city. Mumbai will once again witness an enormous potential in the form of Clowning as an art and career.

It is an all new initiative to make India the next Cirque du Soleil venue and nurture talent for International arena. Mad Hatters, the family entertainment division of Light House Entertainment (I) Pvt. Ltd, presents for the second time in India an International Clown Fest, from 30th September, 11 to 2nd October, 11 at St Andrews Auditorium, Bandra.

Martin D’Souza, Director of Light House Entertainment (I) Pvt. Ltd., has been in the business for 21 years since 1990; his expertise also lies in Conceptualizing, Event Planning, Event Management and Execution. ICFI is providing an opportunity to open a new genre of entertainment of pure laughter & innocent entertainment through their talent on their shows that have been brought to life under the leadership of Martin’s vision.

In all there will be a 100 minute show which includes presentation of high energy acts along with a display of various skills interwoven to make it a hilarious and entertaining show. The show will be professionally choreographed and presented by the International Clowns which includes Clown Gags, Juggling, Magic, Skits, Mime, Acro-balance and Audience interaction. It’s a sure visual delight for the whole family with a guarantee of 100 minutes of non-stop laughter.

International clown festival India season 2 will be one of its kind and unique where Professional Clowns from all over the world will come together and perform their talent and skills. Clowns from across the world namely Mike Hirschbach from Canada, Julie Varholdt from USA, Gregory Parks from USA, Toto Johnson from USA, Sam Tee from Malaysia, Joe Vecciarelli from USA, Kristin Langille Dahl from Canada & Martin D’Souza will be a part of the event. Greg, Toto and Joe former Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus graduates and performers, the finest in the world of Clowning and Circus Skills will be a part of the ICFI. Mike and Joe who are currently associated with the Cirque Du Monde Program in America, a Social Circus Program supported by the Cirque Du Soleil will be here to join hands with Martin to take his Circus School dream ahead. Martin is also launching his very own Music CD for the first time.

Theatre Shows :  Synopsys : “A Family Reunion”

Clowns from all over the world, one BIG FAMILY are bonding together in Mumbai to reunite and celebrate their Anniversary of working and performing together. As they get ready to cut and eat the special cake they’ve prepared for this occasion, they tell stories, open presents, and perform some of the many acts they’ve done. Clowns arrive on unicycles, stilts, in wheelbarrows, then get ready for the party, featuring fun acts through Pantomime, Juggling Magic, Puppets, Acrobats, Stilt Walking and perform for each other while waiting. It all ends when the mysterious large present is finally opened, resulting in an unexpected twist to their celebration.                      
           
Outreach Program : 28th of September The ICIF team will perform for 200 street kids at IIT Powai at 1 pm followed by a workshop on Clowning and clown skills for 80 Childline Volunteers (young Adults)

Workshop & Demonstrations : Learn the Tricks of Trade from the Masters.  Special workshop & demonstration will be conducted for Schools & Colleges teaching them various skills required for Clowning comprising Balloon sculpting, Mime, Juggling, Comedy & Acrobats and lots more. Details to be announced soon. This show is dedicated to the Family. As this is a family show and they are reaching out to those without a family… specially the abandoned, destitute and underprivileged children.

Childline was a CSR activity by Larsen & Toubro, Advisor to the Chairman, Mr R N Mukhija says “We are always looking at innovative ways to enhance the learning capacity of the children and bring down the number of kids dropping out of schools. Our mobile toy van ‘Nanha Munna Express’ visiting municipal schools as part of ‘Project Ujjwal’ and providing access to stimulating play material to these children, is a step in this direction.”
